Power Yoga ~ Advanced Level

This 90 minute Power Yoga is similar to Hot Yoga, but without the artificial humidity and electric heat source. This class is geared towards students that enjoy a physical and mindful challenge. This is a strenuous yoga, great for those interested in picking up internal heat and building strength, flexibility and balance. This class is for students with yoga experience.  *Yoga mat is required

Kundalini Yoga

Kundalini Yoga is an uplifting and dynamic form of yoga that awakens you to your greatest potential. This yoga style incorporates a set of postures called Kriya, a specific set of exercises for a specific effect on the body and mind. It offers powerful breathing techniques, relaxation with gong, meditation and sound vibration (mantra). The goal is to build physical vitality, defeat stress, and increase consciousness. The body movement will open the energy centers (chakras), relax the nervous system, normalize the brain chemistry, and strengthen the organs. The end result of every class creates an open flow of energy in the body, gain control of the mind, and clear out all your stress. This class is suitable for all fitness levels.

Power Lite Yoga

This class is based Ashtanga and Hatha yoga; Move, Stretch, Strengthen, Tone, Breathe, Align, Relax and Meditate.  In India it is said that a flexible body is a youthful body. Flexibility enhances the energy flow helping to alleviate stress, strengthen the nervous system and recharges your batteries.  This class is perfect for those that feel stiff, sore and tight in the body.  Designed for people that don’t get enough physical activity and need to reduce stress or have a job that requires sitting for long periods of time or athletes, especially runners who desperately need more flexibility.  This class is a good program for the strong beginner and experienced yogi the moves are simple and easy to learn. You will leave feeling refreshed, flexible and energetic, a great release from nose to toes!  

*NOTE:  Some yoga experience would be an asset.  This is not a beginner course but beginner students with a strong sense of body awareness are welcome.  Need a yoga mat

Yoga for Beginners 

This class is just what the title says, it’s for the person that has never taken a yoga class but is interested in taking the time to learn the skills properly.  This is also an excellent class for someone that needs a good refresher.  This class will break everything down and go step by step. At the end of 12 weeks you will feel more confident in your practice.  You will learn the basics of 3 different yoga disciplines;  Hatha, Ashtanga and some Kundalini Yoga.  You will learn some basic information about the ancient beginnings of yoga and the many health benefits and how easily yoga can be done by anyone no matter what their needs or ability.  You will learn breathing techniques, postures and body alignment, meditation and mantra and proper relaxation.  You will start to feel more energized, flexible, physically stronger, and less stressed in your daily life.  

*You will need a yoga mat for this class, yoga mats can be purchased at the studio, there are also yoga mats you can borrow until you get your own.

Strong Beginner Yoga

This is the next step after you have taken the Yoga for Beginners class or if you have previous yoga experience but need a refresher.  This class reinforces and prefects all the techniques from the Yoga for Beginners class.
This is a stepping stone towards the Power Yoga Lite Class.  
*You will need a yoga mat for this class, yoga mats can be purchased at the studio, there are also yoga mats you can borrow until you get your own.

Yoga for Menopause – Not available at this time.

This class is for women looking for a healthier and a more natural way of dealing with the symptoms of peri, post or premature menopause.  If you suffer from hot flashes, night sweats, insomnia, mood swings, anxiety, depression or experience bloating, low libido, poor memory or concentration this is the class for you.  You will learn specific yoga postures, breathing techniques, relaxation and visualization to help you reactivate your hormone production and help activate and balance the ovaries, thyroid function and decrease the intensity of menopause.
