Guidelines To Help You Get The Most From Each Yoga Class

Being on time or 10 to 15 minutes early will help you to prepare for your practice.

  • Bring a water bottle to keep hydrated.
  • Not a good idea to eat a heavy meal before yoga. Not eating 2 hours before class will provide a better experience. If you need to eat something make sure it is light and easy to digest.
  • You will need to purchase a yoga mat. If you forget your mat you can borrow one at the studio.
  • Bring a cushion or a small pillow to sit on this helps to raise your seat to keep your spine straight.
  • You may wish to bring your favorite blanket or shawl to cover yourself during final relaxation or meditation.
  • Please turn off your cell phone.
  • Avoid wearing heavy perfumes or deodorants as this maybe toxic to some students.
  • Wear comfortable, easy to move in clothing.
  • It is best to practice yoga barefoot.
  • Avoid wearing jewelry as it may restrict your movements.
  • If you have long hair it is best to keep it back.
  • Empty your bladder before practice.
  • If your arrive late you can still join in, please be respectful and quietly come in.
  • If you need to leave early please do it before final Relaxation.
